Today we have a new sponsor, which I think you'll find interesting:

Flashcard Tree is an online flashcard SRS designed for students of Japanese. Improve your skills fast by converting any Japanese text into a flashcard deck with full word glossaries, Furigana, translation, and audio. Other features include an integrated Japanese-English dictionary for fast word card creation, an RSS reader for Japanese language websites, and support for mobile devices.

I see they also have a Japanese version if you can't stand english ;)

    Howdy fellow kanjiteers!

Yes, I am still alive. I am sorry for the lack of updates. I'm on a long hiatus and may or may not continue to develop the website actively. I just don't know. What I do know is I have enough time to take care of any issues related to hosting, forum moderation, and backups and so on.

This site due to its very specific nature doesn't have a huge following, but it has a very dedicated following and so it's not going anywhere. Donations and sponsors more than cover up the costs for domain names renewals and hosting fees.

I know the new edition is going to be a problem on this site due to the reordering of the characters. One solution so far is the 6th Edition Frame Number Converter tool that has been kindly shared by gomtuu on the forum. Essentially, this creates a "custom" list that you can add through the Manage pages. A bit cumbersome but that should work for the majority of characters that are common from 5th to 6th edition.

In other news user Tom C has shared a very creative and inspirational video on vimeo, called 100,000 Kanji. I think everyone here will love it!

I have a little bit of work to add RTH 2 material to the Chinese site. Unfortunately adding 6th edition support to this site requires a lot more sweeping changes. Incidentally these changes are also required for Simplified Chinese Support on the RTH site.

Last but not least, I would like to thank everyone who has donated in the past year and early 2012. Some have even donated more than once, you know who you are. Thank you :)
