I'm sorry for the lack of updates recently. I am recovering from rhinoseptoplasty, a surgery which will hopefully allow me to breathe comfortably with my nose and improve my quality of sleep. It's been really hot as well as many of you are experiencing in Europe.
I am looking forward to resume work on the site in September, maybe sooner depending how I feel. update:
I have recovered already. I spent a week breathing through the mouth, which was the most uncomfortable part. My cast was removed friday! My nose is still a bit swollen, and will take some time to heal fully and clear up so I am not yet breathing as comfortably as I wish but I have to admit it's already better than it was so I can't complain. I am told it can take anywhere from 3 weeks to a couple months to fully experience the benefits. And then it can take a year or more to fully heal up. As far as aesthetics are concerned I can't complain either since they removed the little hump that often goes with a deviated septum so my nose looks a bit nicer :)
All in all I'd say go for it if you need surgery for a deviated septum or even for a significant aesthetic correction. It's a bit unpleasant to go through but as long as you can take a week off it's not that bad. The surgery itself was done in the morning and I was allowed to go home in the afternoon. I didn't have much pain, mostly swelling around the eyes, and a feeling of pressure on the face, so you still want pain medication to relieve the sensations but it's really not that bad.
By the way, Kanji Koohii will be ten years old
