• 4 July 2019Update to the open source repository (using Docker)

The Kanji Koohii repository on Github was updated today with a new Docker setup!

The repository uses a very simple but functional setup: there is a php/Apache container, and a MySQL container. It's very simple to install and a sample database is automatically configured.

The sample database includes 3 "top voted stories" for 2200 RTK kanji (6th edition), plus two random stories per page. This provides enough environment to simulate the production site, while keeping the sample database small (the mysql/ volume should take less than 150 MB after installation).

Keep in mind this is a very old codebase. If you are learning "frontend" or "backend" development, look elsewhere! If you are curious however, want to fiddle with the SQL queries. have some ideas for improving the Dictionary results perhaps? Or if you like design and want to try out some ideas that you are too limited with Greasemonkey / Stylish extensions... be my guest :)
